Installation of a borehole and water points

Access to Water: A Critical Priority

The installation of a borehole and water access points is a top priority for improving the daily lives of residents and supporting future agricultural activities. Access to water is a fundamental condition for any local development, and this is especially true in the North Pool region, where access to drinking water remains a major challenge.

Our initial agroforestry initiatives were made possible by seasonal rains, but access to water remained a constant obstacle. Lacking suitable infrastructure, we had to be resourceful: buying water several kilometers from our farm, transporting it in jerrycans, and storing it in hand-dug wells covered with tarpaulins to limit evaporation.

This temporary solution has allowed us to begin planting, but it underlines the urgent need to establish a reliable and sustainable water supply to ensure the long-term success of the project.

The engineers in charge of the drilling estimate that it will be necessary to dig up to 150 meters deep to reach a usable aquifer in the region.

A detailed quote is available upon request.

Given these constraints, the construction of a borehole has become a priority to ensure a sustainable water source for local communities.

Source de Vie

We are pleased to conclude our first phase with one of our most crucial achievements for objective no. 2 of our "Terres d'Espoirs" project: the construction of a borehole and water points in the village of Ntoula. This achievement was made possible thanks to the generosity of the City of Meyrin, Switzerland. This expression of confidence from the City of Meyrin demonstrates the recognition of the importance of our project and our commitment to improving the living conditions of the communities we serve.

Thanks to this valuable support we will be able to realize our vision of providing communities with sustainable access to clean drinking water.

Currently, the workers are sheltering under plastic tarpaulins, both to...

firstly to protect themselves from the rain & spend the night on site, if necessary, at least for some of them, thus limiting travel and costs.

Aware of the urgent need to quickly improve their working conditions, the association contacted several building technicians to obtain competitive quotes and, if sufficient funds are available, to quickly begin construction work on a suitable living base.

Building a residential area within the agricultural complex would not only secure the site but also revitalize it by creating a structured living space. By fostering the gradual establishment of a community, this initiative would strengthen the project's sustainability and transform the site into a true hub for local development, where work, training, and daily life intertwine to build a sustainable future.
